Free ‘fishing day’ returns to Longreach to teach kids about aquatic life

Our Junior Fishing Day is back!

Held in Longreach, this free, family-friendly event is the perfect chance for kids of all ages to cast a line, learn the basics of fishing, and discover the amazing aquatic life of the Thomson River.

Under 11s: 9am – 12pm
11 and older: 1pm – 4pm

Learn about river health and conduct WaterBug surveys
Learn knots and fishing with hand reels along the Thomson River
Free tackle box and fishing gear
Smoko provided, with a sausage sizzle from 12pm to 1pm
Parental supervision required
