WEED CONTROL

Can you afford to delay weed control? Every year without action sees the problem, and the control costs, get bigger.

Desert Channels Queensland can provide a hassle-free, cost-effective solution to your weed problem.

Weed control is the pointy end of the stick: once the exact location, extent and trend of the infestation has been determined through survey and mapping, and a clear and simple strategic, operational plan developed, the action can start. And this is the part we all like, because this is where it really feels like we’re getting somewhere.

DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS

‘Rubbish in; rubbish out’ is a well-founded computing adage…never is it more true than with data collection and analysis.

You can produce the most comprehensive decision-making tools in the world, but if the input data leaves something to be desired, then so will the finished product. That’s why we place so much store in the way we collect and manage our data — we know how critical it is to the quality of the end product.

Our field officers collect data with smartphone apps, GPS cameras and drones, devices that enable fast and accurate transfer of data for subsequent analysis and action.

Our capabilities include:

  • developing project specific applications for both iOS and Android
  • field data collection (surveys and monitoring)
  • database development (online or offline)
  • data analysis
  • mapping

In short, we can customise to meet your needs.  We have the tools and expertise to measure most things (stock numbers, weed infestation areas and density, traffic flow, flooding events, erosion, pasture response, habitat extent, species distribution, water quality) and to store, analyze, manage, and present your data.
