It was a day of big hats and shady trees, but the searing heat didn’t stop keenly interested graziers from increasing their understanding of the management of vegetation, weeds and carbon. Our multi-location field day went from Gidyea thickening at Lochanbar Station, Aramac, to Rubbervine treatment further north at Adelong. Guest speakers from DNRME and GreenCollar led healthy discussions, and provided clarification of some of the complexities of veg management and carbon farming.
We received some great feedback and with the field day building on theory based workshops, landholders appreciated the opportunity to work through real paddock examples. The model works well and DCQ will look to continue this combination of theory and practical application in future workshops and field days. Thanks to our hosts, attendees and guest speakers … another practical, well-received DCQ field day.
