John Wearing’s hard work is starting to pay off, big time!
The journey for John as he’s trialled seeding of Mitchell grass has been an interesting one. He seeded a range of grass types, including Mitchell grass, to a variety of depths in areas where drought had heavily reduced ground cover, and where tussocks had failed to recover. With the summer rain the plants have leapt out of the ground.
When coupled with wet season spelling and fencing to control grazing pressure, the result is impressive, but as John says, there’s still a lot of questions to answer.
